Cycle #7 ~ OVULATION DAY
Ovulation day at last!
I felt pretty crampy and my lower abdomen was very sore last night and today. It has gotten better as the day wore on though. We decided to bypass our little jaunt into Washington D.C. but we plan to go back there for a weekend, maybe in late fall when it's cooler and walking won't be so taxing. After all the walking we did yesterday I just wasn't up for it. So instead we drove over to Front Royal, VA and hopped on Skyline Drive in the Shenendoah National Park. I have always wanted to go there, ever since I was in high school and we sang a folk song medley and Oh Shenendoah was one of the songs. Any place that inspires someone to write a beautiful ballad about has to be amazing. And the views were stunning indeed! Two negatives though: Entry fee of $25 and I didn't find the drive to be that scenic. The Shenendoah Valley was lovely. But I still prefer Great Smoky Mountains National Park over any other one I've ever visited.
One really awesome thing happened though. We saw a real bear. In the wild. Alive. It was thrilling for the 30 seconds it lasted! He was a precious little baby black bear and I'm sure his momma was nearby. He was just crossing the road all casual-like lol. I've been going to the mountains for many years and have been hoping to see a bear in a wild setting (as in not in a zoo!). No idea if it's a girl or boy but we named her Shenen (pronounced Shannon, as is the place). On our beach trip over Easter we encountered a bear but it was unfortunately not alive. So yeah, I was absolutely thrilled about that and it made the visit soooo worth it!
So that's it! Tomorrow is the beach trip with my mother, my girls and 2 of my nieces (twins C&E). It's five nights and I'm really gonna miss my hubby. We haven't spent a night apart since before Jackson was born, other than when DH was in the hospital and then again when DD#2 was. I made him give me his shirt that he wore today so I could take his scent with me lol. Yes we've been married for 10 years and are still mushy-gushy lol.
As for the possible bambino(s), I really hope this is our month. REALLY hope! Maybe seeing the baby bear (finally!) was a sign? I also saw two butterflies today. Both were yellow. I think I captured one in a pic, let me check. Dang it that's weird - didn't capture it in any of the 4 pics I took trying to capture it.
